An endowment has been established by the Museum Guild of Dearborn to support the Dearborn Historical Museum. This move is one of the keys to helping the Museum remain viable now that the operating budget that used to come from the City of Dearborn has been completely eliminated. The Endowment principal is being invested in two Prudential Investment funds, one no-risk and one low-risk. The Endowment’s ultimate goal is to make the Museum financially self-sufficient.
After donations to the fund reach $100,000, the Guild will declare a dividend, of which 75 percent will be re-invested, 10 percent used as a maintenance fund for the Museum, and 5 percent used to maintain the Endowment. This is a start to helping the Museum down the road to sustainability. Now, we need your help. If you would like to make a donation to the Endowment, just click on the donate button below.
