The deadline for this campaign was Friday July 18th and we are happy to report we have enough funding to have a sign built and installed. We hope to have it up by the end of August. Thank you to all of our generous and gracious donors, we could not have done it without you, you made this possible.
We have a very exciting opportunity that has recently been presented. It has been long overdue that a sign be placed on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Brady Street to make more people aware that the McFadden-Ross House, the Gardner House, and the Museum office reside on Brady just north of Michigan. It is estimated that 100,000 cars stream down Michigan Avenue everyday. It is also estimated that the people driving 95% of those cars have no idea that a Museum is so close. A quality sign with the ability to post events and exhibits would go a long way to rectifying this situation. The following picture shows the present situation with the McFadden-Ross House in the background.
A generous donor has offered to match up to $500 in donations for the purpose of building and installing a sign for the Dearborn Historical Museum on this corner. It would be two-sided in order to catch the attention of east and west bound vehicles. If you would be willing to help in this worthwhile endeavor, please click the donate button below which will allow you to specify any amount you want to give. You do not have to be a Paypal member to donate. If we can reach the $500 mark and add the matching funds, the amount will cover the sign and the installation. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you for your much needed help and for supporting local history.
Donations of $50 or more will have their name(s) listed on the sign as a donor.
